Slim Buster says people should stop mistaking his quiet lifestyle for a lack of money, insisting that he does not perform at shows because promoters cannot meet his price.
The veteran musician made the comments during a TikTok live while responding to comparisons between him and younger Ghanaian artistes.
“When I started, Shatta Wale's mother hadn't even given birth to him. His mother is my size, yet you fools are comparing me to those people,” he said.
Slim Buster said his decision to stay away from shows should not be interpreted as a sign that he is struggling financially.
“Or is it because they come and claim they have money? Having money, my foot,” he said.
He added, “If you see my payslip, you will be amazed. I don't play shows because they can't pay me. That is why I decided to stay on my side.”
The musician also had a warning for people who insult him and mistake his silence for fear.
“Let me warn you for the last time. If you insult me and I don't reply to you, don't think I am afraid of you,” he said.
