Thelence.com continues with our look at persons aspiring to become the New Patriotic Party (NPP) First National Vice Chairmanship position.


Our focus is on a former spokesperson for former President of Ghana, Nana Akufu-Addo.


Dr Mustapha Abdul-Hamid is a prominent Ghanaian politician, academic, and current member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).


Career & Background


He is a former CEO of National Patroleum Authority where he served as the Chief Executive Officer from July 2021 until January 2025.


Ministerial Roles:


During President Akufo-Addo's first term, he was the Minister for Information (2017–2018) and later the Minister for Inner City and Zongo :Development (2018–2021)


Academic:


He is a Senior Lecturer (currently on leave) at the University of Cape Coast, specializing in the Department of Religion and Human Values.


Party Activist:


A long-time NPP loyalist, he previously served as the party's first elected National Youth Organizer and was the spokesperson for Nana Akufo-Addo for nearly a decade .


Dr Abdul-Hamid will be counting on this as he aims to win the election to become the First National Chairman of the NPP.
