The Ghana Football Association (GFA) will officially unveil legend Asamoah Gyan as an Ambassador on Wednesday, May 20, 2026.
This special ceremony will take place at the Pelican Hotel in Accra where the ex-international will be honoured.
The event is scheduled to begin at 7:00pm local time in the Ghanaian capital, and is designed to celebrate Gyan’s contributions to Ghana football.
The ceremony will also leverage his influence to build momentum ahead of the Black Stars’ participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup in June and July.
The role will see him spearhead promotional campaigns, engagements, and corporate partnerships aimed at uniting Ghanaians behind the Black Stars as they head to North America for the 2026 tournament.
He will also represent the GFA at official meetings and promote the national teams and colts football among others.
Gyan, 40, is Ghana's all time top scorer with 51 goals from the 109 matches he played between 2003 and 2019.
He represented Ghana at three FIFA World Cups in 2006 where he scored the country's first ever goal at the Mundial, 2010 and 2014.
