The 2026 Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) Top 4 pre-season mini-tournament is set to start on Wednesday, August 26 in Accra.

Four clubs, Medeama SC, Bibiani Gold Stars, Dreams FC and FC Samartex 1996 will compete in this year's tournament.

It is being put together by GHALCA who have traditionally organized the tournament as a prelude to the start of every new season.

The matches will be played at the University of Ghana Stadium, Legon in the Ghanaian capital.

The tournament has been projected to end on Sunday, August 30 to pave way for the participating clubs to rest enough for the start of the 2026/27 Ghana football season.

The upcoming contest presents the clubs an opportunity to test their readiness for the start of the new campaign.

Medeama SC will be involved in three competitions next season as they look to build on what they achieved last season.

The Ghana Premier League (GPL) champions will look to defend the title they won last season as well as partake in the knockout competition.

The Mauve and Yellow, will also play in the CAF Champions League where they have been paired with DR Congo giants TP Mazembe in the preliminary round.

Gold Stars, Dreams FC and FC Samartex, will test their arsenal against each other ahead of what promises to be a very demanding season to come.

Two matches will be played a day starting on August 26 with further matches to be played on August 28 and 30.

The team with the most accumulated points after three matches each, wins the tournament.

The 2026/27 GPL season starts on the weekend of September 4-6, 2026 with 17 clubs aiming to dethrone Medeama SC as champions of the competition.
