The Govt of Ghana has begun the repatriation of 327 Ghanaians affected by a mass demolition exercise carried out by Ivorian authorities in La Côte d’Ivoire.

A total of 228 citizens safely arrived in Ghana on Thursday, as part of a special consular intervention led by the government to ensure the protection, welfare, and safe return of stranded compatriots — alongside efforts to recover their belongings.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed gratitude to individuals who brought the situation to national attention and also commended Ghana’s diplomatic mission in Abidjan, as well as Ivorian authorities, for their cooperation and reported commitment toward compensation.
