Asiedu Nketia Assures Ashanti: NDC Won’t Let You Down

The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has conveyed a strong message of assurance to the residents of the Ashanti Region. He emphasized that the party is steadfast in its commitment to fulfilling campaign promises after its victory in the 2024 general election.

During the first day of his Ashanti Regional Thank You Tour, at Nsuta Kwamang Beposo, Hon. Asiedu Nketia outlined the purpose of his visit. It was not only an expression of gratitude but also the commencement of a process of accountability. The NDC aims to regularly evaluate its performance against the promises made to the people of Ghana.

Addressing Inherited Challenges.

Hon. Asiedu Nketia acknowledged the substantial challenges the party faced upon assuming office. However, he highlighted that President John Dramani Mahama’s government had already initiated measures to stabilize the country and enhance living conditions.

Development Initiatives.

He pointed to various ongoing development initiatives as evidence of progress. These include projects in the education sector and improvements in water supply. Some supporters from the opposition have even begun to recognize these advancements as signs of positive change.

Broad-Based Support.

The NDC chairman underscored the widespread support the party garnered during the elections. He explained that many Ghanaians, transcending political affiliations, were concerned about the country's trajectory and united behind the NDC to foster change.

Hon. Asiedu Nketia urged unity within the party, advising against internal disputes over positions. He stressed the importance of retaining experienced party officers who played a crucial role in the 2024 campaign success. He warned that unnecessary internal changes could undermine future electoral efforts, particularly as the party looks towards the 2028 elections.

He also advocated for the removal of non-performing officials, encouraging active grassroots mobilization and ongoing engagement with communities throughout the region.
