President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in Brazzaville, the capital of Republic of the Congo, to participate in the investiture ceremony of President Denis Sassou Nguesso, who has secured another five-year mandate following his re-election.
The Ghanaian leader’s trip comes shortly after a busy domestic schedule, where he officially launched his flagship Free Primary Health Care Programme in Dodowa. The initiative is aimed at expanding access to essential healthcare services and improving preventive care across the country.
Mahama departed Accra soon after the launch event, underscoring his administration’s commitment to both national development and international diplomacy. His presence at the ceremony in Brazzaville highlights Ghana’s continued efforts to strengthen bilateral relations and foster cooperation with other African nations.
The investiture of President Sassou Nguesso is expected to draw several heads of state and government officials from across the continent, signaling a moment of regional significance and unity.
President Mahama is scheduled to return to Ghana after Thursday’s ceremony.
