Six suspected armed robbers, Philip Nyarko, aged 23, Hadi Samed, aged 20, Issahaku Musah, aged 27, Hadi Abdul Majeed, aged 23, and Foster Owusu Afriyie, aged 45, have been arrested in the Ashanti Region.
Preliminary investigations by the Police revealed, that the suspects are linked to a number of reported street robbery incidents at Kaase, Ahinsan Estate, Santasi New site, Bronikrom, Kwadaso Estate and other locations within the Ashanti Region.
Items reportedly retrieved from the suspects include; 33 assorted mobile phones, 5 keypad mobile phones, 2 matchetes, 2 motorbikes, knives, and an Iphone 13.
Further investigations also led to the arrest of Augustine Agyemang Duah, who is believed to be assisting the members of the syndicate to unlock alleged stolen phones.
Police further noted that three of the suspects, Philip Nyarko, Hadi Samed and Abdul Shattar were previously arrested on 6th December, 2025, for conspiracy to commit crime. They were arraigned before the Asokwa circuit court 1, and subsequently granted bail.
Following their release, investigations revealed that some of them allegedly resumed their criminal activities.
The police are intensifying efforts to apprehend Abdul Shattar and other persons; Andy, Dauda, Malik and Abdul Farouk, believed to be connected to the syndicate.
