Álex Remiro is reportedly open to joining FC Barcelona and is prepared to accept a backup role behind goalkeeper Joan García if a deal materializes.
Barcelona are exploring the possibility of bringing the experienced shot-stopper to Camp Nou at a reduced cost. Despite Remiro having a €15 million release clause in his contract with Real Sociedad, the Catalan side hopes to negotiate a transfer fee below €5 million.
The club views Remiro as a reliable and experienced option who could provide strong competition and depth in the goalkeeping department. His willingness to take on a secondary role is considered a key factor in Barcelona’s interest.
However, if negotiations with Real Sociedad fail to produce an agreement, Barcelona are ready to take a patient approach. The Spanish giants could wait until 2027, when Remiro would become a free agent, and attempt to sign him without paying a transfer fee.
For now, the situation remains open, with Barcelona weighing their options while monitoring how talks with Real Sociedad develop.
