Ghana's two representatives in African club competitions this year Medeama SC and Nations FC will be in action this weekend.

Both will try to overturn first leg deficits after suffering defeats last weekend in their respective duels.

Medeama SC lost 1-0 at home in Tarkwa to TP Mazembe of DR Congo in the CAF Champions League first leg preliminary round qualifier.

On the part of Nations FC, they lost their CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round first leg qualifier 1-0 away to Malian side FC Diarra in Bamako.

Medeama SC will head to DR Congo to play Mazembe on Saturday in their return leg fixture knowing they must produce a result if they hope to advance to the next stage of the competition.

This will be a very difficult assignment for the Ghanaian champions as they make a foray into the dreaded home venue of the former African champions.

Nations FC will welcome their Malian counterparts to the Accra Sports Stadium in their second leg preliminary round tie in the CAF Confederation Cup competition.

The game will be played on Sunday in the Ghanaian capital with Nations FC seeking to overturn the result of the first leg game played in Mali.

The two Ghanaian clubs therefore have their jobs well cut out for them as they go into their respective matches this weekend.
