Real Madrid have failed in their attempt to overturn the suspension handed to midfielder Federico Valverde after the club’s appeal was rejected by the Appeal Committee, according to reports from The Athletic.

The Spanish giants had challenged the disciplinary decision in hopes of reducing or cancelling the ban imposed on the Uruguayan international. However, the Appeal Committee upheld the original ruling, meaning Valverde will still serve the suspension as previously decided.

Real Madrid believed there were grounds to reconsider the punishment and submitted their arguments through the appropriate legal channels. Despite their efforts, the committee determined that the evidence and circumstances did not justify altering the sanction.

The decision represents a setback for the Madrid side, who will now have to cope without one of their most influential midfielders during the suspension period. Valverde has been a key figure for the club with his energy, versatility, and ability to impact matches both defensively and offensively.

With the appeal now dismissed, Real Madrid must adjust their plans for the upcoming fixtures while Valverde completes his ban.
