Three individuals have been arrested following a violent disruption during the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) constituency executive elections at the Bantama Cultural Centre in Kumasi, Ghana.

The election reportedly proceeded despite a court injunction seeking to halt the process.

According to eyewitnesses, voting was underway when a group of alleged thugs forcefully entered the venue, damaged election materials, and threw the event into chaos, forcing delegates and party officials to flee for safety

Police personnel stationed at the venue swiftly restored order and arrested the three suspects.

The individuals are currently in custody and assisting with ongoing investigations.
