Transfer window for the 2026/27 Ghana football season opened

The window for the registration and transfer of players in Ghana football for the 2026/27 season has opened.

As announced by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) the registration window opened today Monday, May 25, 2026 at 00:01 GMT and will close on Sunday, August 23, 2026 at 23:59 GMT.

During this period, clubs in the top two tiers of Ghana football, can sign, transfer and register players for the new season which is expected to start in September this year.

The GFA also announced that the period will not be extended and, have urged clubs to comply with this directive.

It is expected that there will be some interesting moves as clubs try to strengthen their squads for the new season.

Medeama SC, won the Ghana Premier League (GPL) title in the season just gone by and, they will look to add more quality to their numbers especially as they will compete in the CAF Champions League next season.

Also, clubs that fell short in the league last season, will look for top talents to aid their course in the coming campaign.
