A Ghanaian woman has come forward with a serious allegation, claiming that shortly after she gave birth, some hospital staff offered to take her newborn baby girl in exchange for GH¢30,000.

She said gave birth on May 23, 2026, and it wasn't easy at all. According to her, the baby got stuck during labour and she went through severe complications before the child was finally delivered.

She claimed that after the birth, the hospital staff approached her with the offer.

“My baby finally came out, and they told me they would take the child, so I called home to inform them that the baby had died.

The hospital told me they would take my baby girl in exchange for GH¢30,000,” she told Oheneni on Ahenfie FM.

According to her, a midwife instructed her to leave the baby at the hospital before she was discharged the following day, and she complied.

She also claimed the baby's father and his family did not question the situation because they had shown little interest throughout the pregnancy.

The woman further alleged that when it was time to pay her, she received GH¢27,000 instead of the agreed GH¢30,000.

She said she was told the remaining GH¢3,000 had been deducted to cover expenses related to her pregnancy care.
